There are some excellent isolated and quiet surf breaks within 10 km of Venus Bay on the back beach between Venus Bay and Mount Camel. If the surf’s not your thing you can always have a crack at sand-boarding on the local dunes or go surf fishing for salmon. Accessible by conventional vehicle, look for the signpost off highway.
One of the fellas I met in the Pt Kenny Pub recommended that you visit the www.buoyweather.com website for swell forecasts.
The closest buoy is the one here..check it out!
